The Body Polish

17 Jan

What is a body polish?

That is the # 1 question we get asked.

A body polish is a full body exfoliation using our Eminence Organic sugar scrub. Raw sugar cane produces a natural alpha-hydroxy acid, which increases the thickness of the deeper layers of skin to promote firmness. Sugar scrubs gently exfoliate and slough off dead skin cells, and reveal a layer of soft, smooth, moisturized skin that has been hidden underneath.  Exfoliating also helps prevent body acne and may also help you avoid ingrown hairs by preventing dead skin cells from plugging up follicles where you shaved, sugared, or waxed. It will also help even out skin tone.

Our treatment is done in a room with a shower so the sugar scrub can easily be rinsed off after application. After, you get to hop back into the warm, comfy bed, while we apply a moisturizing organic body lotion.

The body polish can be done on its own or paired nicely with a massage. The body polish will be stimulating,  where a massage will calm you down. It’s best to do a body polish every two months, or every time the season changes. It’s important to exfoliate your skin at home in between polishes so your skin will stay smooth and will help in regenerating. Get polishing!

We recommend using a sugar scrub days prior to sugaring or waxing, as well as while the new hair is growing in to help prevent in-growns. Eminence Organics creates a number of sugar scrub flavours to suit every appetite including Blueberry Soy, Mimosa, Cranberry Pomegranate, and Apricot. Eminence Organic Sugar Scrubs can be purchased for at home use in our spa.
